Education licence rules

In force from: October 22, 2026

Translation of the Polish version; the Polish version is binding.

§1 Provider and definitions

These rules set out the free HeatAlgo education licence (the "Licence"). The Licence is granted by Cratun Sp. z o.o., registered office at Niekłonice 49E, 76-024 Niekłonice, Poland, entered in the register of entrepreneurs under KRS number 0000971816, tax id (NIP): 4990690625 (the "Provider").

The Licence is free access to the Service granted under these rules. Capitalised terms - Service, User, Account, Project, Free Plan, Subscription - have the meaning the HeatAlgo Terms of Service give them (heatalgo.com/en/terms, the "Terms").

In these rules: a University is a higher-education institution; a Partner University is a University on the list the Provider publishes at heatalgo.com/en/for-universities and in the Service; a Student is a person studying at a University; a Teacher is a person teaching classes at a University; a Group Code is a code the Provider assigns to a Teacher for the students of their classes (§5).

These rules are in force from October 22, 2026.

§2 Who may use the Licence

The Licence may be granted to a User who is a Student or a Teacher. A Student receives the Licence when they join a Teacher's group with a Group Code - in that case the Account's e-mail address may be any address - or when the e-mail address of their Account belongs to the domain of a Partner University.

A Teacher submits a request for the Licence in the Service. The request names the University, the class and the number of students in the group, at most 120. The Provider checks that the Teacher teaches at the University and may accept or decline the request; a declined request may be submitted again.

We do not ask for a student card or any other document: the right to the Licence is decided by a Group Code, by the Account's e-mail address on a Partner University's domain, or by the acceptance of a Teacher's request. The Licence is not granted to a blocked Account or to an Account with a running Subscription, and one Account holds at most one running Licence.

§3 Scope and duration of the Licence

The Licence gives full access to every module of the Service free of charge: the full results and the reports and files to download (PDF, DXF, Excel).

While the Licence runs, a Student's Account may hold at most 10 Projects and a Teacher's Account at most 30. Deleting a Project frees a place for a new one.

The Licence runs for 365 days from its activation. The User sees the Licence's end date in the Service from the first day.

The Licence may be renewed for another 365 days at the earliest 30 days before its end or at any time after it, if the User still meets the conditions of §2. The Licence does not renew by itself.

§4 Non-commercial use only

The Licence is for learning and teaching only: classes, exercises, coursework and theses.

The Licence may not be used for paid work or in a business, in particular for designs, calculations and sizing done for payment or for a client, or to prepare offers.

Every file downloaded under the Licence (PDF, DXF, Excel) is marked "Education licence - for learning, not for commercial use".

§5 Group Code

When the request is accepted, the Teacher receives the Licence and a Group Code. The Group Code admits as many Students as the places granted in the request, at most 120, and works until the Teacher's Licence ends.

The Teacher gives the Group Code only to the students of their own classes. It may not be published or passed to anyone else.

The Licence of a Student who joined with a Group Code ends on the day the Teacher's Licence ends.

The Group Code admits no new Students when the group is full, when the Teacher's Licence has ended or when the Provider has revoked it.

§6 End and revocation of the Licence

The Licence ends when the period in §3 runs out or on the day it is revoked.

The Provider may revoke the Licence when the User breaches these rules, in particular when they use the Licence commercially (§4) or pass a Group Code to people outside their classes (§5). Revoking a Teacher's Licence closes their Group Code.

After the Licence ends or is revoked, the Account continues on the Free Plan. Projects and data stay on the Account; from then on files are downloaded on the terms of the Free Plan.

§7 Other provisions

Anything these rules do not cover, including the Account, liability and intellectual property, is governed by the Terms (heatalgo.com/en/terms).

The Licence is free, so the provisions of the Terms on payments and on the right of withdrawal do not apply to it. While the Licence runs, the Service's paid services cannot be bought from the Account.

We process personal data connected with the Licence as the privacy policy describes: heatalgo.com/en/privacy. Complaints can be sent to [email protected]; we handle them as §15 of the Terms provides.

§8 Acceptance and changes to these rules

The User activates the Licence in the Service by ticking their acceptance of these rules. We record which version of the rules they accepted.

The Provider may change these rules by announcing it in the Service at least 14 days in advance. A Licence activated before the change runs to the end of its period.
