Preliminary Heat Pump Sizing with Radiator Analysis
Quick estimate for client conversations. Not a replacement for a full installation project.
Heat pump selection in HeatAlgo is a browser-based preliminary pump power sizing with room-by-room radiator analysis - built for heating installers. Enter building and radiator data, compare 3 flow temperature scenarios, and hand your client a PDF during the initial meeting.

Context
What this tool is for
A client calls about a heat pump. They want to know: is it worth it, which radiators will need replacing, how much will it cost. You need a fast answer during the meeting, not a full engineering project.
HeatAlgo gives you preliminary pump sizing and room-by-room radiator analysis in about 15 minutes. It's built for sales conversations: show the client a concrete plan, answer their questions, close the deal. The full installation project comes after, on-site, with proper measurements.
This tool doesn't replace the installation project or a certified audit. It replaces back-of-the-envelope calculations and guessing during a sales call.

Frequently asked questions
Does this replace a full installation project?
No. HeatAlgo gives you a preliminary pump sizing for client conversations. A full installation project requires a site visit, accurate measurements, and consideration of local conditions. You use HeatAlgo at the sales stage, and do the full project after the client decides.
Where does your heat pump data come from?
The solver selects one of 10 generalised heat pump power classes (HP-4kW to HP-16kW). Their characteristics - COP curves, costs - are averaged from catalogue data on 239 devices from 28 manufacturers. This isn't a database of specific models to pick from, just a reference point for preliminary sizing.
Does the radiator analysis account for flow temperature?
Yes. For each flow temperature scenario (e.g. 40°C, 55°C, 60°C) we check whether the radiator output covers the room's heat demand. You see exactly which radiator needs replacing.
Can I compare several heat pumps for the same building?
You compare flow temperature scenarios and power classes, not specific models. The system shows how the required power and running cost change with flow temperature - choosing a specific device from a manufacturer stays your call.
What does HeatAlgo cost?
Your account is free forever - use it without limit, no card required. You only pay for the full report: €25 per project, or unlimited on the Installer subscription from €83.25/mo billed annually.
Can I save a project and come back later?
Yes, data is saved automatically to the cloud. You can return to your project from any device: desktop, tablet, or phone.
How many rooms can I add?
There is no room limit - the system processes each room individually and shows results for the whole building.
Does it work for multi-family buildings?
The tool is built for single-family homes - the pump power classes go up to 16 kW. For a larger building you can still calculate room-by-room demand, but treat the power sizing as indicative only.
Can I change the radiator type in the analysis?
Yes. For each room you can select a different radiator type and size and immediately see how the analysis result changes.
