You open Settings from the side menu ("Settings") or from the account menu in the top-right corner. The tab strip has four entries: "Profile", "Notifications", "Security" and "Plan and billing" (the last one leads to the billing page). The "Profile" tab also holds the language, units and currency, and the "Who these calculations are for" and "Privacy" sections. This is where you enter what goes on reports and forms, choose which emails you want, and set the app's language and units.
Profile: company details on reports and forms
The "Profile" section has five fields: first name, last name, company name, phone and website. All are optional, but fill them in right away, because they show in two places:
- on the title page of every PDF report - from the heat loss calculation, heat pump sizing, radiant floor heating and ventilation,
- in the header of the form you send clients, and in the invitation email to the form ("From: your company").
You save changes with "Save", confirmed by "Profile saved". The new details apply to reports you generate from then on; PDFs downloaded earlier stay as they were.
The Start page reminds you of gaps on the "Setup" card (the optional "Complete your profile" row waits for a company name and a logo) and shows a "Your brand" card with your current logo and name.
Company logo
You upload the logo under "Profile" with "Add logo" (or "Change logo" when you already have one). Allowed formats are PNG, JPG and WEBP, up to 10 MB. After you pick the file, the "Company logo" editor opens:
- move the crop with the mouse or the arrow keys, and resize it with the handles or Shift plus the arrows,
- "Rotate left" and "Rotate right" turn the image by 90 degrees,
- "Reset" undoes cropping and rotation,
- "Apply" saves the logo; "Remove logo" deletes it.
The logo goes on the cover of every PDF report and into the header of the client form. Every account can use it, including free ones - it is not a paid feature. If the editor cannot load the file ("This logo could not be loaded."), pick another file. Saving the logo as PNG usually helps.
Units: imperial or metric
The "Units" field switches the whole app between "Metric (m, °C, W)" and "Imperial (ft, °F, Btu/h)". In imperial you see and type feet, ft², °F, Btu/h, Btu/h·ft² and gpm. Room sides show in feet and inches, and a length box takes 10.5 or 10' 6" alike.
Where your starting setting comes from:
- An account created from the US starts in imperial.
- An account created anywhere else starts in metric.
- Anyone can switch at any time, here or in a module's settings. The choice belongs to your account, so it applies to every project.
We read the country once, when the account is created, and keep only the resulting setting - never the country or your IP address. Your browser language does not change your units.
Only what you see and type changes. Every calculation follows EN standards in SI units - heat loss to EN 12831-1, floor output to EN 1264 - and the project is stored in metric. So switching units never changes a result. Typing 10 ft stores 3.048 m, and switching back shows the same value in meters. Algo answers in your units too.
A few things stay metric on an imperial account:
- nominal pipe and duct sizes, such as "16×2 mm",
- the tubing spacing, which shows in inches with the millimeters kept (for example 5.9" / 150 mm),
- kWh, percentages, air changes per hour and dB(A),
- the PDF report, which prints metric units for every account for now,
- the client form, which is a public page with no account.
You find the same "Units" choice in "Module settings" (the gear on the wizard's glass island) in the heat loss calculation, heat pump sizing and ventilation, and in the radiant floor heating toolbar menu.
Currency
The "Currency" field sets how the heat pump module shows its costs: "Polish zloty (PLN)", "Euro (EUR)" or "US dollar (USD)". The module's prices (electricity, fuels, installation cost) are Polish prices, calculated in zloty. Another currency is a conversion at the average rate of the day from the NBP, the Polish central bank. An account created from the US starts in dollars, an account from Poland in zloty, and one from anywhere else in euro. The same choice is in the heat pump module's settings ("Currency of the heat pump's costs").
This setting does not change what you pay. Report and subscription prices are shown on the plan screen, and a visitor from the US sees them in dollars, tax included.
Notifications
The "Notifications" tab has two parts: categories and channels.
Message categories:
- "App news" - announcements about new features and changes,
- "Client forms" - a notification when a client fills in a form,
- "Account and access" - important messages about your account; this category is always on,
- "Project reminders" - an email when a project is waiting to be finished, or has a result and no report.
Channels: almost everything lands in the bell in the app. That is your inbox in HeatAlgo, and you cannot turn it off. A pop-up shows for some messages only, and the sender decides which. You can turn email off separately for each category. Project reminders are the exception: we send those by email only, so turning that one off stops them completely. Every switch saves on its own ("Change saved").
Below the grid is the "Newsletter and offers" switch. It is off unless you turn it on, and you can withdraw that consent here at any time.
The bell in the top bar opens the "Notifications" inbox. You can mark everything as read, clear everything or delete single entries; messages with a link have a "Read more" button. Announcements are also on the Start page under "What's new", and the full changelog is on the "What's new" page in the account menu.
Privacy: the assistant's technical logs
Under "Privacy" there is the switch "Keep technical logs of the assistant". When it is on, we keep the content of requests sent to the AI model and the model's reasoning summary, so we can look into an error you report. Turning it off stops future logging; it does not delete what we kept earlier. To have earlier data removed, contact us at the address in the Privacy Policy. The assistant works the same either way. More on what Algo sees and stores in Algo, the AI assistant.
Who these calculations are for
A short question with four answers: "I work on my own", "I run an installation company", "For my own home", "Something else". It helps us decide what to build next. Nothing depends on your answer - the offer is the same, and you can change your answer at any time or skip it.
Language
The "Language" field switches the app between Polish and English. The change covers the interface, notifications and the PDF reports you generate. The same switch is in the account menu. Language and units are separate choices, so you can use English in metric or Polish in imperial. The client form has its own language switch on your client's side.
What is not in Settings
You set or change your password in the "Security" tab. In Settings you cannot change the email address or delete the account - how to do those is in account, sign-in and password. Your plan, credits, subscription and invoices are on the separate "Billing" page (account menu, "Plan and billing").
A HeatAlgo report follows EN 12831-1 and EN 1264, not ACCA Manual J, and is not accepted for permits or rebates.
