Subscription, invoices and payments: how to buy, cancel and find your invoice

Subscription, invoices and payments in HeatAlgo: how a purchase in dollars works, who issues the invoice, how to add a tax ID, and how to cancel or resume.

Founder of HeatAlgo, author of the calculation engine to EN 12831 and EN 1264

Short answer: you pay on the Stripe page by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link, in US dollars, euro or zloty. Stripe is the seller and emails you the invoice after every payment. You cancel the subscription under "Your plan" with "Cancel subscription" - access stays until the end of the paid period. If you are looking for what is free and what a report unlocks, start with the free plan and reports.

How a purchase works

You start a purchase in two places: on the "Billing" page (account menu, "Plan and billing") with "Change plan", or in a project with "Unlock the full report" when you have no credits. A dialog opens with a Report / Subscription switch. Under Report, you pick "Module" (one or two modules of this project) or "Whole project"; under Subscription, a term of 1, 6 or 12 months.

In the same dialog, you choose the currency (USD, EUR or PLN) and see the price with tax included. "Go to payment" takes you to the Stripe payment page. There you enter your card details or pick Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link, and if you are buying for a company, you enter the tax ID. After paying, you return to the app on the "Confirming your payment" screen. Confirmation usually takes a few seconds; then you see "Payment confirmed" and access is active.

Credits appear on the account right away and never expire. The subscription starts right away for the term you chose.

Who the seller is and where the invoice comes from

A purchase in the app is processed by Stripe, and Stripe is the seller. It applies tax for the buyer's country and issues an invoice with the HeatAlgo name and the product details. You receive the invoice in a separate email from Stripe after every payment - including every subscription renewal.

All invoices and the saved card are under "Invoices and card at Stripe" on the "Billing" page. A Stripe page opens, and you return to the app from it. Your purchase history is also in the "Orders" section of the app: every payment has a date, an amount, a status ("Paid" or "Refunded"), the seller and the invoice number.

Buying for a company? Enter the tax ID in the Stripe payment form, before you pay - the app reminds you in the purchase dialog. The tax ID from the form goes on the invoice.

Prices include tax. The figure shown beside the price is what you pay, and Stripe settles the tax for your country on the payment page. You pay in the currency you pick beside the price - US dollars, euro or zloty. Purchases are not possible from countries restricted by the payment provider - the list is on the pricing page.

Payment methods

On the payment page, you pay by credit or debit card, or with Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link. Payment by bank transfer against an invoice is part of the Company plan, for companies doing many houses a month, with an individual quote (for companies). Such orders appear under "Orders awaiting an invoice" with the status "Invoice on the way", "Invoice issued", "Paid" or "Cancelled".

Subscription: term, renewal, cancellation

The Installer subscription covers every project on the account, with no revision window. You buy it for 1, 6 or 12 months ($129, $619, $1,079, tax included). A longer term means a lower price per month. Under "Your plan", you see the status "Active" and the "Paid until" date.

The subscription renews automatically at the end of the paid period, from the saved card. On the six-month and annual terms, you receive a reminder email with the amount two weeks before the renewal; the monthly plan renews each month without a separate reminder. If the renewal payment fails, Stripe retries, and your access continues in the meantime - update the card with "Manage card at Stripe".

Canceling: under "Your plan", click "Cancel subscription". The dialog shows three things: until when you keep access, how many projects lose report export after that date, and that projects and calculations stay on the account. After you confirm, the status changes to "Ending" and access lasts until the paid-until date. Until then, you can change your mind with "Resume subscription" - we delete nothing, and resuming restores export in every project.

After the subscription ends, projects unlocked under it go back to preview as far as export goes: PDFs you downloaded stay yours, and you can download a new version after buying a report or resuming the subscription. While one subscription is active, you cannot buy a second one - the app refuses with "You already have an active subscription".

Card and payment details

You change the card with "Manage card at Stripe" on the "Billing" page - it opens a Stripe page where you enter the new card, and you return to the app. If the app answers "There is no card saved for this account, so there is nothing to manage", no card payment has been saved yet - the card appears with the first purchase.

HeatAlgo does not store card details; everything about the card and invoices happens at Stripe.

When something went wrong

  • "This is taking longer than usual" on the confirmation screen - the payment may still have gone through; check the "Billing" page shortly.
  • "Payment not found" - check "Billing"; if you were charged, write to us from the confirmation screen, and the payment reference is attached automatically.
  • "The payment could not be opened. Try again in a moment - nothing was charged" - a short-lived problem on the payment side; repeat the purchase.
  • A refunded payment - it has the status "Refunded" in the payment list, and the unused credits from that payment disappear from the account.
  • Questions about correcting an invoice - write to us from the account menu ("Email us").

Refunds and withdrawal

Canceling a subscription takes effect at the end of the paid period: you keep full access until then, and the fee for unused time is not refunded pro rata. Unused report credits do not expire, so they stay on the account for the next job.

Under our Terms of Service, a consumer has 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. A report and a subscription are digital content: at purchase, you confirm that you want the project unlocked or the subscription started right away, and you acknowledge that once it is fully delivered, the right of withdrawal ends. If you withdraw effectively before full delivery, the payment comes back to you within 14 days by the same method you paid with. You can always withdraw from subscription periods that have not started yet - that is the ordinary cancellation described above.

For card purchases in the app, the seller is Stripe, and you exercise the right of withdrawal against Stripe under its terms; against us, on the company route. The full rules are in the Terms of Service (§8 and §9). A refunded payment shows as "Refunded" in the payment list, and the unused credits from that payment disappear from the account.

A HeatAlgo report follows EN 12831-1 and EN 1264, not ACCA Manual J, and is not accepted for permits or rebates.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who issues the invoice for a HeatAlgo purchase?

A purchase in the app is processed by Stripe, and Stripe is the seller: it applies tax for your country and issues an invoice with the HeatAlgo name and the product details. You receive the invoice by email from Stripe after the payment, and all invoices are under the "Invoices and card at Stripe" button on the "Billing" page.

How do I get a company invoice with a tax ID?

Enter your tax ID in the Stripe payment form before you pay - it appears on the invoice. The app reminds you of this before you go to payment. You cannot add a tax ID in the app after the purchase; in that case, write to us.

Which payment methods does HeatAlgo accept?

Credit and debit cards, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link. Payment by bank transfer against an invoice is part of the Company plan, with an individual quote.

Can I pay in US dollars?

Yes. You pick the currency beside the price - US dollars, euro or Polish zloty - and pay in that currency. The price shown includes tax: the figure you see is the figure you pay.

How do I cancel my HeatAlgo subscription?

On the "Billing" page, under "Your plan", click "Cancel subscription". The dialog shows until when you keep access and how many projects lose report export after that date. Projects and calculations stay on your account. Until the end of the paid period, you can change your mind with "Resume subscription".

Does the subscription renew automatically?

Yes. The subscription renews automatically at the end of the paid period, from the saved card. On the six-month and annual terms, you receive a reminder email with the amount two weeks earlier; the monthly plan renews each month without a separate reminder. If you do not want it to renew, cancel the subscription before the period ends - you keep access until the paid-until date.

I paid, but the app does not confirm the payment - what now?

After you return from Stripe, the app usually confirms the payment within a few seconds. If it takes longer, check the "Billing" page shortly. If you were charged and have no access, use the "Contact us" field on the confirmation screen - the payment reference is attached automatically and we trace it.

How do I change the card for the subscription?

On the "Billing" page, click "Manage card at Stripe". A Stripe page opens where you change the card, then you come back to the app. You cannot cancel the subscription at Stripe - you do that in the app.

Do I get a refund for unused credits or a canceled subscription?

Canceling a subscription takes effect at the end of the paid period - you keep access until that date, and the fee for unused time is not refunded pro rata. Report credits do not expire, so there is nothing to refund. Under our Terms of Service, a consumer has 14 days to withdraw, but when you buy a report or a subscription you confirm immediate delivery, and once it is delivered, the right of withdrawal ends. The full rules are in §8 and §9 of the Terms of Service.
