The PDF report is the document you hand to a client or a crew. Calculating is free, with a preview of the results. You unlock the full results and the PDF report with a purchase. Every module generates its own PDF, and all of them share a cover with your branding. This article describes where to download reports, what they contain, how the to-scale printable plan works and what the messages during generation mean.
Where to download the report from each module
- Heat loss calculation - step 7 "Result", the "Download PDF" button. The report contains the building's design heat loss, the W/m² index, the room table split into transmission, ventilation and bridges, envelope details with layers and U-values, the calculation parameters and the declaration of the scope of compliance with EN 12831-1. For a floor on the ground, footnote [1] says how the loss through the ground was calculated (EN ISO 13370 and Formula (8) of EN 12831-1), and footnote [2] gives the building's B′ (perimeter P and area A) when a floor takes the B′ of the whole slab.
- Heat pump sizing - the "Result" step, the "Download PDF report" button. The report contains the recommended pump, the sizing steps, the bivalent point, the supply variants, radiator feasibility room by room, annual costs and remarks.
- Underfloor heating - the drawing toolbar, the "Download" button, which opens "Project documents": "PDF report" (cover, heat balance, loop table, flow meters, plan, formulas - details below), "Print plan" - a to-scale print without the cover and tables, "Bill of materials" - a separate PDF for the wholesaler, and "Download everything (ZIP)" - all three in one file.
- Ventilation - the "Result" step, the download button opens a menu with "PDF report" (balance, room flows, the terminal regulation table, the bill of materials, unit data, a drawing fitted to A4) and "Duct layout" - a to-scale print, each storey on its own.
The underfloor report names three powers: "Heat loss of the rooms with loops", "Heat in the water (manifolds)" and - when the project has a heat loss calculation - "Building design heat loss - for sizing the heat pump", with the water content of the loops and supply routes beside them. The loop table lists every loop once, with its working conditions: the room temperature, the floor covering, the mean floor surface temperature and its limit; the material over the pipe (cement screed, anhydrite screed or concrete) is among the assumptions. The flow meters are listed per manifold in port order, with a room column. Rooms without a loop of their own get a separate page: their area, their heat loss and the length of the supply routes that cross them.
How the report looks
Every report prints on portrait A4, on white pages. Tables have grouped columns and a totals row, the formulas sit on cards with the clause numbers of the standard, and the last page, "What this report rests on", lists the standards the calculation is based on, with the report number. Drawings keep their own colours.
Under the results in the heat loss calculation, pump sizing and underfloor heating there is a "Report notes" field - the remarks, recommendations and notes you enter appear in the PDF.
Sample files
Before you buy, you can see every file you will get. On the pricing screen, beside the plan cards, the "What you get" card names the standard the module calculates to and has a button for each of its files. Underfloor heating: the report, the scaled plan and the materials list. Ventilation: the report and the scaled duct plan. Heat loss and heat pump: the report. A button opens, in a new tab, the PDF of a sample house - two storeys, all four modules - generated exactly like your files, in the app's language. Open the prices from a module and the card shows that module's files; from a project or "Plan and billing" you pick the module in the card. The client and the address on the cover are made up.
Cover and report number
Every report opens with a title page with:
- your logo and company details (company name, full name, phone, email) from Settings,
- the project name, the client's full name and the property address from the project details; the address appears only when the client name is given,
- the report number.
The report number has the format HA-year-six-character code, e.g. HA-2026-K7M2XQ. It is given to the full report of an unlocked project - one number per project, shared by every module and every later version. A preview from a project that is not unlocked has no number and does not show your details.
Preview versus full report
From a project that is not unlocked you download a preview: it shows as much as the free account shows on screen - the building summary, one fully calculated room (one loop in underfloor heating), the recommended pump. The remaining rooms, the method details, the pump variant comparison, loop lengths and the manifold are in the full version. The "Unlock and download the PDF" button spends a credit (or opens the purchase) and generates the full report at once. If you buy a report for one or two modules, you download the full version in those modules, and the project's other modules stay on the free plan until you add another module or the whole project.
After unlocking, editing is never limited, and you download new PDF versions for 7 days from each module's first download; the printable underfloor plan has its own 7 days from its first download. In a subscription there is no window. Details in what is free and what a report unlocks.
The printable underfloor floor plan
"Print plan" in "Project documents" (the "Download" button in the underfloor heating module's toolbar) generates a to-scale storey plan with the loops, spacing and lengths drawn on - for printing on site, e.g. 1:50 on A3. After "Set" (or "Change" once a paper is chosen) you set:
- the storey - the plan covers the one visible on the canvas; switch it to download another,
- the scale (from 1:5 to 1:500, custom too), the paper size and the orientation,
- the grid - guide lines every few centimetres on each sheet.
Every sheet carries a scale bar - a length in metres chosen for the scale you set, also with the grid off. The plan in the PDF report has a scale bar too when the backdrop is calibrated.
The print preview says whether the whole plan fits one sheet or takes several - then you print all of them and glue along the corner markers, or increase the paper size. The title block gives the "Project" (the project name), the "Storey" (only when the project has more than one) and the "Issue date". A storey nobody renamed prints under the same name as its tab: "Ground floor", "Basement", "Floor 1". The plan needs a calibrated backdrop and at least one drawn section. It is part of the report: on a project that is not unlocked the "Print plan" row shows a lock and "In the full report".
The same card holds "Bill of materials" - a separate PDF for the wholesaler with the materials list and the coil cutting plan, unlocked with the report - and "Download everything (ZIP)", which downloads the report, the plan and the bill of materials in one file; with no paper chosen yet, it asks for one first. The paper you choose is remembered in this browser, and a phone never chooses one, so there the ZIP holds the report and the bill of materials.
The ventilation duct plan
On the "Result" step of the ventilation module the "Duct layout" row in the download button's menu opens the to-scale print dialog: scale, paper size and orientation, with an upper bound on the number of sheets. Each storey prints separately, with the project name, the storey name and the issue date in the title block. Storeys on the drawing and in the duct schedule are named the way the canvas tabs are, e.g. "Ground floor", "Floor 1". The main report additionally contains a drawing fitted to an A4 page. On a free account the duct plan is locked until the project is unlocked - the menu shows its lock and an unlock offer.
Compliance with the standard in the heat loss report
The heat loss report carries a status on the result: "Result meets EN 12831-1:2017" or "Approximate result - does not meet strict EN 12831-1 compliance". The second appears when, for example, the perimeter of a floor on the ground was assumed as 4·√A because no room on the ground has external walls, air flows for mechanical ventilation or heat recovery are missing, or the heating-up power was taken from the table without confirming the conditions of Annex F.2. The list of reasons is in the "About this result" dialog under the status chip and in the report itself, together with the declaration of the calculation scope. Report language
The report is generated in the app language: Polish, English, German, French or Dutch. Change the language in Settings, on the "Profile" tab, in the "Language" field, and the PDF is generated in that language - with its field names.
Messages during generation
- "PDF generation is temporarily unavailable" - an outage on our side; try again in a moment.
- "Open the floor-plan preview before exporting" - the underfloor plan needs a current image of the drawing; open the preview and download again.
- "The floor plan changed since the preview was taken" - something changed on the drawing after the preview was opened; open the preview once more.
- "The floor-plan image could not be prepared" - reduce the backdrop scan or pick a smaller print scale.
- "The project has issues to fix - some results in the export may be empty" - first fix the fields from the "to fix" chip.
- "This module has no data to export yet" - the module is empty; enter data or import it from the heat loss calculation.
Downloaded files stay yours for good, also after the window for new PDF versions closes and after the subscription ends.
